Mikis Theodorakis greeted the initiative of peace of Geneva as a courageous and hopeful act.
"With the deposition of this project during one the most crucial periods in Middle East, a strong message goes toward the whole world: a alternative solution to war and disaster exists", the composer declares in a communiqué published yesterday.
"The fact that it emanates from the two sides, is an irrefutable proof that the two peoples, the Israeli and the Palestinian, can coexist peacefully one beside the other".
Mikis Theodorakis underlines that the vicious circle of violence has to stop and he makes notice that "it is possible and necessary, without delay to open the path of the understanding that will conduct to the historic reconciliation between the Arabian world and Israel, in profit of the peace in this agitated Middle Easter region and all over the world".
