Square between the Meridian Gate and the Gate of Supreme Harmony

On 22 June 2006, the Greek Ministry of Tourism, under the auspices of E.O.T., organises a concert with the contribution of the Popular Orchestra "Mikis Theodorakis". The performance will be held at 19:00 in the Palace of Music of the Forbidden City in Beijing.
The Popular Orchestra "Mikis Theodorakis" under the baton of Ilia Voudouri and with the interpreters Nena Venetsanou, Nikos Kouroupakis, Julia Souglakou and Zachos Terzakis, will present “Songs of Passion and Love” with music by Mikis Theodorakis in a scenic realisation by Margarita Theodorakis.
The performers will be joined by the Symphonic Orchestra of Beijing and the Chorus of National Symphonic Orchestra of China.
The event is part of the cultural exchanges between Greece and China. It’s aim is to present Greece abroad, while the work of Mikis Theodorakis is the most representative of Greek culture today and at the same time it constitutes an important pillar of world culture.
