We are very pleased to be associated with the North American Foundation for Modem Greek Arts in this special tribute to Mikis Theodorakis, Greece's leading composer and great ambassador of Greek culture.
Inextricably tied with his land, Mikis Theodorakis has conquered the hearts of Greece and the rest of the world with a varied repertoire bearing a unique musical language and expressive power, some of which we are happy to present to you this evening.
We also salute Mr. Theodorakis for his lifelong dedication to Greek arts and culture, as weIl as his very courageous standpoint at times of political crisis in Greece.
I hope you will enjoy this special concert and wish you very happy memories of Greece!
