I Had Three Lives

Cover
Mikis Theodorakis has already touched many lives in many countries with his music alone.

For those who understand Greek, the combination of his music with Greek poetry has been a lasting inspiration.

His own poems were a response to the dramatic events of his life.

Scribbled in prison cells and on barren islands, they are the work of a man who had three lives:

- one of heroic political struggle,
- one o bountless artistic creativity,
- and one of private loves and sorrows.

The poems are tranlated by Gail Holst-Warhaft, biographer and eminent specialist of life and work of the composer.

Prof. Gail L. Holst-Warhaft is Adjunct Associate Professor at Cornell University, Department of Classics/Comparative Literature
